The history of Faculty of law started in 1991 and this is the most prestigious faculty of Uzhhorod National university for the time being. Educational practice has been conducted according to the highest level accredited “magister” specialties - “International law”, “Law enforcement”, “Jurisprudence”.

The educational process has been provided by more than 100 scientific and pedagogical workers, including 33 PhD, more than 70 candidates of sciences, 6 honored lawyers of Ukraine, 2 honored workers of education and science, 1 corresponding member of the National Academy of Legal sciences of Ukraine.

The educational and methodical work has been provided by the museum-laboratory of criminalities, audience-hall for trials, law-making center, two computer classes,  methodical chairman offices, student legal clinic, reading-room of university library and subscription of legal literature..

 An European league of law students “ELSA” and International association of law students proceed by the faculty, due to which students have the opportunity to be integrated into scientific legal space. The programs of double diplomas, academic exchanges (in particular Erazmus+) has been implemented. Teachers pass internship in leading European higher education establishments, in particular by the Кarlovy university (Czech Republic) Liublin catholic university (Republic of Poland), Mishkolts University  (Hungary), University  named after Ian Kamensky  in Bratislava (Slovakia),  Trnavsky university (Slovakia), Western university  named after Vasile Goldish  in Arad city  (Romania) etc.

3. The magazine “Constitutional and legal academic studies” – is a professional scientific journal that covers the results of scientific research on current issues of constitutionalism, constitutional construction, development of constitutional law and process in Ukraine and abroad. The magazine has been included to the list of professional editions of  B category specialty 081 Law and 293 – International law(http://konstlegalstudies.com.ua/ ).

5. International scientific magazine «Visegrad Journsl on Human Rights», which is the first international legal publication on legal issues within the Visegrad group. The main aim of the magazine is information exchange, collaboration dissemination of human rights issues both within the Visegrad Group and other European countries. The scientific publication is included in the international scientometric database Index Copernicus International (Republic of Poland) and has been registered by the Ministry of culture  in Slovakian Republic (register number EV 5051/14, https://journal-vjhr.sk/).

The collaborators of the faculty have been involved to programs and projects of basic scientific researches which have been supported by State budget of Ukraine including “The participation of Ukraine in global law and national interest protection” (Baltic countries and countries of Central Eastern Europe), “Implementation  of human rights of fourth generation within the framework of Health care system”, “Legal regulation of economic system in the contest of globalization: freedom, institutions, procedures, innovations and outlook”, etc.  besides the collaborators of the faculty have been involved into international programs implement -  «With cross-border cooperation for the Europeanization of Ukrainian borders», (Visegrad+ Ea), “Safe and inclusive border between Slovakia and Ukraine” (International project of EU and Norway Grand funds).

Scientific conferences have been conducted annually on a high level, International scientific practical conference “Transcarpathian legal readings” in particular.

Different art clubs, excursions, cultural entertaining events, meetings with interesting person take place at the faculty for comprehensive development of students.
