The research interests of the Department staff cover a wide range of problems of macroeconomics, world economic relations and their economic and mathematical modelling, international economic security, economic globalization and international labour migration, European transit, foreign economic activity and asymmetries of the cross-border economy of Ukraine, management of international companies and projects of international financial and technical aid, and European good-neighbourliness.

The implementation of the projects "Innovative University - a tool for integration into the European educational and scientific space" with the financial support of the International Visegrad Foundation (Concept of innovative development of Uzhhorod National University "Uzhhorod National University" for 2015-2025 (http://dspace.uzhnu.edu.ua/jspui/handle/lib/8662) and Project CB 01030 "Information provision and implementation of innovative approaches to cross-border cooperation between Slovakia and Ukraine" (within the framework of the program of the Norwegian financial mechanism "Through innovations to cross-border cooperation" (http://www.cbcinnovations.sk/index.php/uk/)  gave the opportunity to scientists of the Department to participate in the development of the Concept of innovative development of the university - an integrator of the triangle of knowledge as a participant of the cross-border educational and scientific cluster and Practical recommendations to the governing institutions of the European Union, state and local self-government bodies, public organizations regarding the effective implementation of the North European experience of cross-border cooperation. 

The monographs and textbooks published by the researchers of the Department as part of the scientific and research projects were repeatedly awarded the titles "Best monograph of UzhNU" and "Best textbook of UzhNU".

Researchers and top students have a great opportunity to publish their articles in the scientific specialist publication "Bulletin of Uzhhorod National University, series "International Economic Relations" included in the List of Scientific Professional Publications of Category B and registered in the international scientometric database Index Copernicus. An important platform of the scientific community is the term conferences of researchers and students, as well as the annual international conference with the publication of theses.
