Uzhhorod University student took part in Summer School on Sustainable Development in Odessa
The fourth Summer School "Community Participation in Sustainable Development" was held at the recreation center "Academy" in Odessa region from June 30 till July 4, 2015. The initiators and organizers of the event were EU/UNDP project "Community Based Approach to Local Development" and the network of partner universities of Ukraine, including UzhNU.
It was attended by students from all parts of Ukraine, who are actively interested in exploring sustainable development issues. The school was also visited by our student, Bachelor of Political Science Valentyn Lakatosh.
For five days active young people were able to participate in several trainings and workshops informing about the concept of sustainable development, social mobilization of communities, strategic planning in the community, etc. Participants did not only listen to lectures, they were also given practical assignments. Young intellectuals willingly participated in interactive games such as the work in a "World Café".
The lecture on effective communication was delivered by the Dean of the Faculty of Journalism of Odessa Law Academy, Doctor of Sciences in Social Communications Tetyana Kuznetsova.
Most of all young people liked the trip to Kominternovsky district of Odessa region, where they were demonstrated how the community could collaborate with local authorities for the benefit of the village.
