UzhNU delegation took part in the Ulysseus European Alliance Summit in Košice
From October 20 to 22, 2025, the Uzhhorod National University delegation took part in the Ulysseus European University Alliance Summit, which was held at the Technical University of Košice (Slovak Republic).
The delegation included:
Volodymyr Smolanka, Rector of UzhNU;
Ivan Myronyuk, Vice-Rector for Research;
Myroslava Lendel, Vice-Rector for Research and Pedagogical Work;
Vitaliy Serzhanov, Head of the Department of Scientific Grant Activities;
Viktoriya Gotra, Doctor of Economics.
For three days, the summit participants discussed the results of joint initiatives implemented within the Ulysseus European University alliance and determined further directions for the development of cooperation between partner universities. The Ulysseus Košice Week program combined a number of strategic meetings, thematic panels and discussions on the future of European higher education, innovation, research and social responsibility of universities.
Representatives of UzhNU held a number of working meetings and negotiations with delegations of member universities of the Alliance, in particular on expanding the university's participation in joint grant projects, academic mobility programs and research initiatives.

The European University Alliance Ulysseus unites leading universities from Spain, Italy, France, Finland, Germany, Slovakia, Austria and Ukraine. The participation of Uzhhorod National University in this association opens up new opportunities for the development of science, education and innovation in an international context.
Rector Volodymyr Smolanka emphasized that Uzhhorod National University’s participation in Ulysseus activities is an important step towards deepening the integration of Ukrainian universities into the European educational and scientific space: “Such meetings allow us not only to coordinate strategic cooperation plans, but also to present Ukraine as an active partner in building the European university community.”
Also, during the visit to Košice, negotiations were held with the European Association for Cross-Border Cooperation Via Carpatia on the possibility of launching joint project initiatives.
Uzhhorod National University will continue to actively develop international relations, expanding its participation in Ulysseus projects and initiating new areas of partnership in the field of education, science and innovation.
