Representatives of the Indo-Ukraine Chamber of Commerce & Industry Visit Uzhhorod National University to Discuss Educational Cooperation with India

Uzhhorod National University welcomed Armi Channa, President of the Indo-Ukraine Chamber of Commerce & Industry (IUCCI), and Tanya Channa, Co-Founder and CEO of the Ukraine Education Hub (UEH). During their visit, they met with Vice Rector, Professor Myroslava Lendel, Doctor of Political Science, to discuss opportunities for expanding international cooperation and strengthening the presence of Ukrainian higher education in the Indian market.

The meeting focused on the activities of the Ukraine Education Hub, a new initiative of the Indo-Ukraine Chamber of Commerce & Industry launched in New Delhi in April 2026. The Hub was officially inaugurated in the presence of the Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of India, Dr. Oleksandr Polishchuk, along with members of the diplomatic corps, the Ukrainian community in India, and representatives of the media.

The Ukraine Education Hub aims to promote Ukrainian higher education among Indian students by providing accessible and reliable information about academic programmes, admission procedures, and study opportunities at Ukrainian universities. The platform is intended to serve as an effective mechanism for rebuilding and strengthening educational ties between Ukraine and India.

During the meeting, the participants discussed opportunities to showcase Uzhhorod National University’s academic programmes through the Ukraine Education Hub, attract prospective students from India, and develop joint educational and research initiatives.

Special attention was given to current trends in international higher education, including the expansion of English-taught programmes, hybrid learning formats, and flexible study pathways for international students. Representatives of the Ukraine Education Hub emphasized the strong potential of Ukrainian universities, particularly those located in the western regions of Ukraine, to deepen cooperation with Indian partners.

The parties also discussed the possibility of signing a memorandum of cooperation between Uzhhorod National University and the Indo-Ukraine Chamber of Commerce & Industry. Such an agreement could provide a framework for long-term collaboration in international education, academic mobility, student recruitment, and the implementation of joint international initiatives.

Prior to the full-scale war, more than 20,000 Indian students were studying in Ukraine, making the country one of the most popular destinations for higher education among Indian students. Today, Ukrainian universities continue to rebuild international educational connections, adapting to new circumstances and offering modern, flexible learning opportunities.

The visit of the representatives of the Indo-Ukraine Chamber of Commerce & Industry marked an important step in advancing the educational dialogue between Ukraine and India and opened new opportunities for expanding Uzhhorod National University’s international partnerships.
