The Student Scientific Society of the State Higher Educational Institution ‘Uzhhorod National University’ presented an exhibition entitled ‘Elements of the Universe’
On 19 May 2025, at Zakarpattia Regional Centre for Children and Youth Creativity ‘PADIYUN’Members of scientific societies of the biology and physics departments and the educational and scientific institute of chemistry and ecology gave a presentation of interactive experiments and exhibits from their fields of knowledge for students of Uzhhorod schools.
The Faculty of Biology conducted an excursion into the cellular world through microscopic studies of preparations of key representatives of the animal and plant worlds and samples of modern fertilisers that are currently widely used in agronomy.

The Faculty of Physics presented many interactive models. The students were fascinated by the mechanism of hand muscles, the reproduction of electromagnetic induction, the creation of simple holograms and a signal game. The participants of the exhibition also had the opportunity to try out a homemade radio. An interesting exhibit was a mechanical model of a nuclear reaction made from everyday objects.
Students from the Educational and Scientific Institute of Chemistry and Ecology engaged children in producing vivid yet simple reactions that demonstrated the beauty and usefulness of chemistry. These experiments included creating a rainbow bottle, invisible ink, visualising oxidation and the density of substances, a chemical volcano, and more.

Overall, the exhibition introduced schoolchildren to the leading areas of natural sciences, which will help them make better choices when choosing a future profession and field of life for self-realisation.
The exhibition ‘Elements of the Universe’ was organised with the support of the ‘Youth Connect for Ukraine’ project, implemented by the British Council Ukraine in Poland, Ukraine, the Czech Republic and Romania.
The regional partner in the Zakarpattia region for this project is the public organisation ‘Prostir Molodi’ (Youth Space).
The Youth Council at the Zakarpattia Regional State Administration was the information and organisational partner of the exhibition.
