The laboratory staff is working on the scientific topic "Vegetation cover of the Ukrainian Carpathians: inventory, management and protection" (topic code 28A-2021).

In addition, the team works in the following areas:

1). Study of the diversity of flora and vegetation of the Carpathians;

2) Assessment of the state of plant populations and different types of phytocenoses for their synphytosozological value and development of protection methods.

3) Expansion, optimization of the structure of the nature reserve fund of the Ukrainian Carpathians, preparation of scientific justifications for the creation of its objects.

4) ) Development of management plans for protected areas;

5) Preparation of regular national editions of the Red Book of Ukraine and the Green Book of Ukraine, which are prepared every 10 years.

6) Preparation of EIA reports (environmental impact assessment), which is a necessary prerequisite for the activities of organizations that involve the use of natural resources;

7) Assessment of natural and operational reserves of mushrooms, berries (blueberries, lingonberries, blackberries, etc.) and medicinal raw materials. Production of documentation regarding permissible limits for alienation of natural raw materials;

8) Participation in the development of the next strategies for the development of the Transcarpathian region;

9) Participation in national and international scientific projects, including the above-mentioned issues, as well as issues of increasing environmental awareness of the population, genomic research, etc.
