To fill the existing agreement with specific content, a delegation from UzhNU headed by Rector V. Smolanka paid a working visit to Bronislav Markevych University in Yaroslavl on 21-23 March.

There was a lively exchange of views on the feasibility of establishing a bilateral working group of representatives of the sectoral departments of the rectorates and faculties of the two universities, which will develop practical steps to develop mutually beneficial cooperation and implement joint projects in the fields of medicine, healthcare, tourism, development of modern IT technologies, research of military history events on the Ukrainian and Polish territories, and others.

The guests toured the historic buildings that house the university administration and faculties, visited the university library, archives, history museum, as well as a modern educational and laboratory building built last year with EU funds, and talked to teachers and students.

The hosts organised excursions to the historical core of their ancient city, founded by Prince Yaroslav the Wise of Kyiv, and to military forts built in the late 19th century near Przemyśl, where large-scale clashes between Austro-Hungarian and German troops and the army of tsarist russia took place during the First World War.
