Rector Volodymyr Smolanka has signed cooperation agreements with Tajik universities in Dushanbe
On March 29 – April 2, 2021, representatives of Uzhhorod National University paid a working visit to the Republic of Tajikistan as members of a delegation of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and rectors of higher educational institutions headed by the Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Serhiy Shkarlet.
On these dates, an educational forum "StudyinUkraine", organized by the Ukrainian State Center for International Education of the Ministry of Education and Science, was taking place in the capital of Tajikistan, Dushanbe. The Ministers of Education and Science of Ukraine and the Republic of Tajikistan, representatives of almost 80 leading higher educational institutions of Ukraine took part in it. The event was held in pursuance of the Decree of the President of Ukraine № 210/2020 "On the improvement of higher education in Ukraine", in particular, in order to promote the opportunities of studying at Ukrainian institutons of higher education among foreign students.
As part of the forum agenda, the representatives of Ukrainian universities met with some Tajik school leavers and students of higher educational institutions. The Rector of Uzhhorod National University, Professor Volodymyr Smolanka, was awarded a Diploma of the Ministry of Education and Science of Tajikistan at one of the official events.
Our delegation worthily presented the educational and scientific opportunities provided by Uzhhorod National University. The programme of the forum meetings was full of constructive, instructive and useful opportunities. The Rector of our university, Volodymyr Smolanka, held a number of talks and meetings with the representatives of some local universities, and signed several agreements on international cooperation with the Tajik partners, including the Tajik National University of Commerce (Dushanbe), the Institute of Tourism, Entrepreneurship and Service (Dushanbe), Dangarin State University (Dangara) and several medical universities. During the talks, the parties discussed the prospects for the development of cooperation in traditional and new areas of education and science. Considerable attention was paid to the improvement and the need to develop relevant draft documents. Mutual interest in strenghthening the ties between the educational institutions of the two countries has been confirmed.
