Educational and scientific laboratory of X-ray structural analysis
According to the 'Concept of Educational Activities of Uzhhorod National University,' approved by the Academic Council and endorsed by the Transcarpathia Regional State Administration, the educational and research laboratory for X-ray structural analysis is classified among the units responsible for supporting the scientific activities of the university. The presence of an X-ray structural analysis setup enables university scientific researchers to seamlessly conduct a comprehensive range of studies on various crystalline materials, from cultivation to the exploration of optical, electrical, magnetic, and other physical properties of materials.
The scientific capabilities of the laboratory are actively engaged in the execution of international agreements, both in the past and in the present. In particular, the Ukrainian-French research project 'Chalcogenide Nonlinear Crystals for Controlling the Shape and Propagation of Laser Radiation Pulses,' No. M/4-2022, registration number 0122U200127, is currently underway.
Laboratory staff have actively participated in the implementation of the following international scientific projects:
- Ukrainian-Lithuanian research project (financing – Ukraine, Republic of Lithuania) 'New Multiferroics and Superionic Conductors for Acoustoelectronics and Solid-State Ionics' under contracts No. M/105-2016, registration number 0116U007381, and No. M/101-2017, registration number 0117U001751.
- Project No. R438a of the Ukrainian Science and Technology Center (financing – European Union, USA, Canada) 'Modification of Chalcogenide Photorefractive Crystals by Diffusion and Post-Growth Treatment' (2014-2017) and its continuation No. R438b (2017-2018).
The X-ray Structural Analysis Laboratory is actively involved in the educational process for students and PhD students at the Faculty of Physics of Uzhhorod National University. As part of the implementation of international projects, PhD students and faculty members of the Physics Faculty regularly have the opportunity to visit leading foreign research institutions, acquire international experience, and use state-of-the-art equipment to accomplish set tasks.
In 2018, the engineer of the Educational and Scientific Laboratory of X-ray Structural Analysis, Mykola Medulich, defended his doctoral dissertation at Uzhhorod National University. In close collaboration with the X-ray Structural Analysis Laboratory, the following researchers from UzhNU successfully defended their doctoral dissertations: Vitaliy Liubachko (2020), Vasyl Shvalia (2017), Mykhailo Pop (2016), Khrystyna Fedio (2012), Anton Kohutych (2011).
