Another clinical resident finished his education
A few years ago, a large number of foreign students began their studies at the Uzhhorod National University. In the past these were sporadic cases, but as of today more than one and a half thousand students from a dozen countries study at UzhNU.
In addition to obtaining their main specialty, foreigners also choose postgraduate studies at UzhNU. Thus, several dozen doctors and dentists acquire a medical specialty studying in clinical residency.
Today, Fahim Zaman, an endocrinologist, who came to us to study from Bangladesh, has completed his studies. We asked him to share his impressions about studying at the Faculty of Postgraduate Education and the time spent in Uzhgorod. Further we provide our short interview in English:
- Hello Dr. Zaman. Why did you choose UzhNU?
- When I decided to study in Ukraine, I found out, that Uzhgorod National University is one of the best universities in Ukraine, the region is very good for us and that there are good clinicians living in Uzhgorod, who will be teaching us and who know English well.
- How would you describe your educational experience in UzhNU?
- Oh, it`s great! When I came here, I met my teachers, my mentor, and my supervisor. They were very friendly and thought me a lot. Teachers explained things in an easy way. Also, when I had trouble communicating with patients (feeling weak in Ukrainian language), they facilitated this communication.
- Can you tell us a little about your life in Uzhgorod?
- I`ve been living in Uzhgorod for 2 years, from April 2019. During my stay in Uzhgorod, I haven`t faced any problems, and I found that the Transcarpathian region is a great place for living, with great weather and general mood, compared to other parts of Ukraine. I`ve met many friendly people and visited many hospitable places. The overall experience was very very good.
- And about the negative sides, have there been any issues during your education?
- Not negative sides. Only, that because of Coronavirus and issues connected to the pandemic, the education was hampered for 2-3 months – I couldn`t visit the clinic. But this is a general problem, which affected everyone.
- Are you planning to return to Ukraine?
- I`ll try to visit Ukraine and see my teachers, Ukrainian friends and everybody related to my education. If there is an official reunion, I`ll try to arrange a visa and come for the visit.
- We congratulate you with successfully finishing your education. You are always welcome in Uzhgorod and our University. We are looking forward to our cooperation in the future.
- I`m also looking forward to it!
