August 7, 2014 in Uzhhorod at the Uzhhorod National University will take place СAPINFOOD NATIONAL WORKSHOP «Improving the enabling environment and public awareness for innovation in the South-East-European food sector through transnational collaboration».
The event will discuss the national innovation strategies in different countries and for the first time guidelines for their improvement will be presented.

The CAPINFOOD National Workshop is organized by Uzhhorod National University (Ukraine) and independent from food producers Scientific Research Institute Campden BRI Nonprofit Kft. (Hungary).
The cost of the event is financed by the CAPINFOOD project which is co-funded by the EU in the framework of the South East Europe Transnational Cooperation Programme.
There will be presented reports of the project partners, the leading Ukrainian and foreign scientists, examples of best practices. It is planned a group exercises for scientists, entrepreneurs and policy makers in dialog triangle: “Policy makers, Industry, Research - any common interests?”
For participation in this event are invited representatives of Small and medium enterprises, local authorities, NGOs, experts in the fields of agriculture and food, health, tourism, food technology, as well as nutritionists, scientists of leading universities and research institutions.

Reference: The main objective of CAPINFOOD project is to improve the enabling environment for food innovation by capacity building of the supporting institutional framework and by promotion of public awareness on benefits of innovation in the food sector through transnational collaboration.Although the food industry is critical to the economies of South Eastern Europe, the level innovations in this area are poor, partly due to unfavorable environment and lack of public support. The main goal of the project is to develop guidelines and national strategies for implementation in South-Eastern Europe in order to make the difference.
