Uzhhorod National University took 18th place in the ranking of higher educational institutions of Ukraine "Top 200 Ukraine 2024"

The Centre for International Projects "Euroeducation", in partnership with the international group of experts IREG Observatory on Academic Ranking and Excellence, presented the eighteenth academic ranking of Ukrainian higher education institutions "Top 200 Ukraine 2024". Uzhhorod National University was ranked 18th among the 200 best national universities.

When compiling this year's ranking, experts took into account current trends in the development of higher education, which is in a state of profound change in the course of ongoing reforms and is suffering great losses as a result of Russia's full-scale military invasion of Ukraine. The basic principles of determining the rankings of universities in the Top 200 Ukraine 2024 are: ensuring openness, transparency, objectivity and independence of university rankings; taking into account the comprehensiveness and diversity of university activities; and prioritising European integration processes.

Given the importance of European integration processes in higher education for Ukraine, the weighting of international university performance indicators (QS World University Rankings, Times Higher Education World University Rankings, Scopus, Webometrics, THE University Impact Rankings, QS WUR Sustainability) was taken into account. The Berlin Principles approved by the participants of the second IREG meeting (Berlin, Germany, 18-20 May 2006) and IREG recommendations (Guidelines 2023 for Stakeholders of Academic Rankings.
