Uzhhorod National University joined the program of the City Day celebrations
The anniversary of our native city began with rain, which, however, did not stop the celebration. So, the representatives of UzhNU decided to demonstrate all the attractions of study at the university to the natives and guests of Uzhhorod.
A student of the fifth year of the Faculty of Chemistry Oleksandra Borshosh introduced a series of experiments that could be done at home. "We will introduce people to the world of chemistry so that they will see that this is an interesting and exciting science. Now we are going to show you some interesting experiments with the substances that can be purchased at the chemist’s. We will surprise you with the "pharaonic snake", the "volcano", the "lava lamp", as well as various qualitative reactions, in particular, we will make "golden rain," - said Oleksandra.
The Dean of the Faculty of Biology, Yaroslava Hasynets, is waching the process near the tent. "Today we are going to present a small biological particle. You can see the cells of an onion, mitosis and pollen on the stigma. In addition, you can also see parasitic worms, a squid and a jellyfish preserved in special solutions. Visitors can also see an Indian stick insect and several species of spiders. Anyone who wants can try to look into a microscope or a binocular, which is very interesting not only for children and schoolchildren, but also adults," - said the dean of the Faculty of Biology.
Guest of the celebration were impressed with the presentation of the Faculty of Mathematics, who amazed the present with the achievements of robotics. Visitors of the tent were interested in the cost of development, skills and abilities of robots. Children, adults and especially men were surprised with the visual design, and the characteristics of robots.
Students of the Faculty of Tourism and International Communication decided to arrange interesting city tours. They planned four tourist routes, which were designed not only to introduce Uzhhorod to its guests, but also to present the city from different and interesting perspectives. They told the legends and unique stories about the city and took groups of tourists to different museums, in particular, to the archaeological museum of UzhNU.
Uzhhorod National University presented an interesting scientific, educational and entertaining program. Students, teachers and deans communicated with the citizens and guests of the city, told them about the peculiarities of studying at UzhNU and the opportunities open to all its students.
