UzhNU signed agreement with the Swiss Association “Parasolka”
On Monday, September 23, 2019, the leadership of UzhNU signed an agreement with the Swiss Association “Parasolka”. According to the agreement, the parties will jointly implement a comprehensive project to develop educational services with the purpose of providing high quality services to children and persons with disabilities in the Transcarpathian region.
The meeting was attended by the Rector of UzhNU Volodymyr Smolanka, the Dean of the Faculty of Health and Physical Education Ivan Myronyuk, the President of “Parasolka” Association (Switzerland) Andreas Schmid, Vice-president of the Association Beat Hunziker, representatives of the Association Henny Graf, Ruedi Iseli, Hans Isenschmid, and Marianne Kneubühler, and the representatives of the charitable organization "Medical Aid Committee in Zakarpattya” Natalia Kabatsiy and Lesya Levko.
According to the dean of the Faculty of Health and Physical Education Ivan Myronyuk, the goal of the joint project is to develop a sustainable system of staff training for the provision of high quality social and therapeutic services aimed at socialization and improving the quality of person’s life based on multidisciplinary approach. The project has many components. The first steps are related to the development of new training modules for students of ergotherapy, physical therapy and oligophrenopedagogy together with the Swiss specialists, as well as organizing trainings for UzhNU teachers in these specialisms."
In the future, the new training programme will serve to train specialists who will provide assistance and support to people with disabilities.
