UzhNU met its prospective students - schoolchildren from Mariupol

On Friday, January 5th  2018, Uzhhorod National University met guests from eastern Ukraine - students and teachers of several schools of the city of Mariupol. Around thirty prospective university students were able to view the building of the university administration, visit the university's museums and watch the presentation about UzhNU and the life of its students.

The first one to greet the guests was a staff member of the department for humanitarian work Roksolana Blazhivska who briefly told about the university and her own experience of studying in it. Roksolana told the present about the study, leisure time and the opportunities she had as a university student.

The guests of the university heard more detailed and thorough information from the Vice-rector of UzhNU Ihor Korol, who didn’t just tell them about university life, but also prepared a presentation with bright pictures of various events. He told about the structure of UzhNU, its faculties and specialties, but most of all the audience was interested in the information on international cooperation, internship opportunities for students in foreign universities and a wide choice of foreign languages they could study at UzhNU.

At the end of the meeting, a group photo of the guests and the representatives of UzhNU was taken, then the schoolchildren made a present – sang a Cristmas carol and congratulated the university on the approaching holidays. The team leader Yuriy Korol said that the tradition of performing carols was unfamiliar to them, but they approached the process with interest and enthusiasm. The schoolchildren from Donetsk region are going to get acquainted better with Transcarpathia by visiting Mukachevo and celebrating Christmas together with Volovets Sunday School students.
