UzhNU hosted a workshop "Is Inclusion About Me (or Not)?"
Have you ever thought about what inclusion means to you and whether it is about you at all? UzhNU students were looking for answers to these questions the day before during the workshop "Is Inclusion About Me (or Not)?" Maryna Stashyna-Neymet started the event with a question about whether inclusion is about everyone. The answers to this question were the beginning of a lively discussion. Some people recalled stories from their lives when they first thought about it.
Natalia Orban, a lawyer at the Uzhhorod office of the Ukrainian Helsinki Human Rights Union (UHHRU), emphasized the change in approaches to this issue from a legal point of view, giving examples of trends in the employment of women and young people.
The activity of students is incredibly encouraging! The question about bullying in educational institutions was the beginning of a lively discussion about how teachers, students, and children should act in such situations, and who can and should be involved in preventing such cases.
The culmination of the meeting was the practical part, when those who wished to practice the skills of ethical interaction with people with different types of disabilities through simulation situations and understand why certain actions may be incorrect and how to avoid them. We are grateful to Natalia Orban and Inna Bon from the UHHRU Reception in Uzhhorod for their cooperation.
We hope that it is through events of this format that we will be able to create a comfortable learning environment for all participants in the educational process at UzhNU.
