UzhNU handed over oxygen concentrator to the Transcarpathian Lung Diseases Center
Miracles happen! This was proved on the eve of the holidays by students, teachers, alumni of Uzhhorod National University and all Transcarpathians who care about the health of their fellow citizens. In early December, Uzhhorod National University volunteers announced a fundraiser to purchase an oxygen concentrator for one of the city hospitals. Today, on December 28, 2020, the device was handed over to the Transcarpathian Lung Diseases Center.
During the handover of the concentrator, the rector of Uzhhorod National University Volodymyr Smolanka commented: “Understanding the need for oxygen concentrators for patients with COVID-19 who need oxygen support, we raised more than 50,000 hryvnias on the initiative of Uzhhorod National University volunteer organization. It happened very quickly. More than 130 philanthropists transfered the money, including university workers and alumni. It took us 3 days to collect the required amount. We bought the concentrator immediately and today, with great pleasure and a sense of accomplished mission, we handed it over to Vasyl Skryp, the chief physician of the Lung Diseases Center.”
The remaining funds will be donated to charity. Details will be announced later.
Be healthy in the new year!
