UzhNU Students Took Part in a Financial Literacy Training for Children and Youth
On September 10, the interactive training “DiiMO: Life Skills (Financial Literacy)” was held at the Prague Hotel. The event was organized for children and young people aged 12 to 23. Participants included students from boarding schools, representatives of family-based care, and young people from families facing difficult life circumstances.
Students of Uzhhorod National University, Stanislav Skorondiak and Khrystyna Ihnat, actively contributed to the organization and implementation of the training. They were responsible for the communication and information aspects of the event, as well as for engaging in educational activities. Their involvement helped make the training more accessible and practical for participants.
The training also engaged students of the Faculty of Mathematics and Digital Technologies, the Faculty of Philology, the Faculty of History, the Faculty of International Communications, and the Faculty of International Economic Relations.
The program included interactive lectures, practical sessions delivered by leading experts in financial literacy, as well as group activities and discussions. Each participant received a copy of the book “The Richest Man in Babylon” as a source of knowledge and motivation for further development of financial skills.
Stanislav Skorondiak, a first-year Master’s student of the Faculty of Mathematics and Information Technologies, shared his impressions. He noted that the participation of students had both a communicational and educational character. In his opinion, it is important for young people to acquire practical skills and to be able to share them with those who need them.
Khrystyna Ihnat, a first-year Master’s student of the Faculty of Philology, also shared her experience. She expressed her gratitude to the organizers and trainers of the “DIiMO” program for the invaluable opportunity. According to her, the training was extremely useful and motivating. She emphasized that in a friendly atmosphere she gained knowledge that she will apply in everyday life. For her, the most valuable aspect was that the information was presented in a simple and accessible way, through games and discussions.

The event was implemented within the framework of the project “Support for Children and Youth with Experience in Alternative Care.” The initiative is carried out by UNICEF in cooperation with the NGO Ukrainian Child Rights Network and the Office for Children and Youth “DiiMO” under the Ministry of Social Policy, Family and Unity of Ukraine. The project is supported by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany (BMZ) through the KfW Development Bank, the European Union, and the Government of Sweden.
