The results of scientific work for 2024 and tasks for 2025 were considered during the meeting of the Academic Council of UzhNU

A regular meeting of the Academic Council of UzhNU was held on Tuesday, 25 February. The agenda included important issues related to the results of scientific work for 2024 and tasks for the current year, the introduction of an integrated information system for managing the educational process, consideration of competitive and certification cases, and more.

On the occasion of the third anniversary of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, UzhNU Rector Volodymyr Smolanka read out an appeal from the Academic Council of Uzhhorod National University. ‘The Ukrainian nation did not surrender to the enemy and, despite painful losses, became morally stronger, more experienced in organising resistance, learned to fight and beat the enemy. Through their heroic struggle, Ukrainians have shown the world that we cannot be forced to surrender, and no one should underestimate the patriotism of Ukrainians when they fight for their freedom, independence, statehood, and their national right to determine their own destiny for themselves and their descendants with the united efforts of a single nation at the front and in the rear. And this feeling is one of the most powerful, which cannot be shaken by the enemy's numerical superiority, its latest weapons, or the indecision or self-interest of our allies,’ the address reads.

According to a good tradition, at the beginning of the Academic Council meetings, the Rector of UzhNU Volodymyr Smolanka presents certificates for the conscientious performance of official duties and on the occasion of anniversaries. These awards were presented in honour of the 75th birthday of the Dean of the Faculty of Physics Volodymyr Lazur and in honour of the 65th birthday of the Director of the Information and Publishing Centre Vasyl Ilnytskyi. Doctor of Philosophy diplomas were also awarded. Photos are available here.
