Mykhailo Savchyn presented a scientific work on the modern trends of constitutionalism

"A book that will be useful for practicing lawyers, lawyers, law enforcement officers, and thoughtful students," is how doctor of legal sciences, professor Mykhailo Savchyn describes the work "Modern trends of constitutionalism in the context of globalization and legal pluralism." The presentation of the edition took place at the meeting of the Transcarpathian Regional Interdepartmental Coordination and Methodological Council for Legal Education of the Population in the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration.

Talking about the goals set when writing the book, Mykhailo Savchyn emphasized that after 27 years of independence, it is important for Ukraine to identify its legal system, to move away from post-Soviet influences, particularly Russian. "We have always developed in the context of the European identity, from which there was a gap for 300 years, while part of the Ukrainian lands were still in the European civilizational and legal field until the middle of the 20th century," Mykhailo Savchyn emphasized.

During the presentation, the author focused on issues related to the quality of court decisions and their role in ensuring human rights and freedoms. Many questions in the book are devoted to how to implement the reasoning of the courts of general jurisdiction, the constitutional court and the approaches of the European Court of Human Rights. The publication also has a separate section dedicated to the protection of the constitutional order in extraordinary situations, as an example - the state of actual war with Russia, in which Ukraine is currently.

"For the future, there is a section of the book devoted to the integration of Ukraine into supranational institutions, in particular the EU. It briefly characterizes the European Union, examining whether it is a confederation, a federation or, ultimately, an empire. I have my own position, the EU should be classified as a new type of sovereign statehood of a supranational character, since it cannot be classified as either a confederation or a federation. The fact that such a network-centric statehood is emerging is positive for Ukraine, as we have a large diaspora in the world, and through it we can defend our national interests," said Mykhailo Savchyn.

The book opens with a chapter that has academic and methodological significance, as it provides an analysis of the current state of the methodology for researching the phenomena of constitutionalism as a system of limiting power and guaranteeing human rights.

Currently, the author's scientific work has aroused considerable interest among experts in the field of jurisprudence, an additional edition of the publication is being prepared for publication. It is also planned to distribute the publication at the next Summer School "Rule of Law and Constitutionalism", which will be held in Chernivtsi in July this year for students and postgraduates of legal institutions of higher education and scientific institutions.
