Meeting with the Dutch philosopher at Uzhhorod National University
On 6 November, the Archaeological Museum of UzhNU hosted a meeting of the Dutch philosopher Frans Geradts with representatives of the teaching staff, postgraduate students and students of various specialities. Frans Geradts is an expert on the implementation of the principles of integrity in the public administration system, on the development of civil society, theoretical and practical aspects of justice and progress.
At the meeting, the philosopher revealed the main mechanisms that will help to introduce integrity into the structures of public authorities in Ukraine, referring to the experience of successful countries in this regard. The key task is to block opportunities for corruption, to create an ethos in the public administration system that makes corrupt actions so unattractive and meaningless that it makes it impossible to commit them.
In addition, the speaker also touched upon the current international situation in the context of the US presidential election results, as well as the new challenges that Ukraine and the democratic world face during the second presidential cadence of D. Trump.
At the end of the meeting, Frans Geradts answered numerous questions that covered a wide range of topics, from specific practical issues of creating a culture of integrity in the management environment to political philosophy.
In the future, the organisers will continue the practice of such meetings, so stay tuned for the next announcements.
