Jean Monet's module project “Europeanization of Public Law of Ukraine: methods, drivers and impacts” was presented in UzhNU

On Friday, November 3, UzhNU held a presentation of the Jean Monet module project within the Erasmus+ program "Europeanization of Public Law of Ukraine: methods, drivers and impacts". Its purpose was defined as research and training on Europeanization of Ukrainian public law, as a key direction of its development. The project will be conducted at the Faculty of Law of UzhNU, the beneficiaries are primarily postgraduates and students, as well as academics, public servants, scientists, and the public in general.

As the project manager, Doctor of Law, prof. Tetyana Karabin has stated: “Jean Monet’s projects are aimed at popularizing, promoting European ideas, European studies at the highest level. The main three groups of inputs that we will receive are: investigation, initiation and spreading of information about our project. Our team includes well-known legal scholars, professors Yaroslav Lazur, Mykhaylo Savchyn, and Oleksandr Bilash."

Congratulating the project participants on the beginning of their work, the Vice-Rector for Academic Policy and Research, prof. Myroslava Lendel has noted: "Last year, we received the status of a candidate for joining the EU. During these two years, our state is solving two crucial tasks: first of all, it is repelling Russian aggression and liberating our territories. The next, important task facing our country is European integration. We are very much looking forward to the start of negotiations on joining the EU, which means a lot of work on adapting our legislation and EU policies in Ukraine. Therefore, this project is indispensable within the context of the European integration of our country".

One of the main beneficiaries of the project are postgraduates of the Uzhhorod National University. Postgraduate Yevhenii Goshovsky notes: "European integration is a very dynamic process associated with various legal acts. And the first reform that should take place after the end of the war is the reform of administrative management, which is directly related to Europeanization. In this regard, the project is very relevant and we are grateful to the university and our mentors for the opportunity to exchange opinions and thoughts within the framework of this platform."

Postgraduate Nataliya Rosul says: "We are looking forward to the implementation of this special educational course at our department of administrative, financial and information law, because the study of the Europeanization of public law is one of the most relevant topics today. In some European countries, this is a compulsory course included in the curriculum, not only for graduate students, but also for students in general, so we will be very happy for the opportunity to participate in seminars, lectures and round tables".

Postgraduate Oleg Rosul has noted: "This project is important in order to enrich Ukrainian legislation with European legislation, for the implementation of EU legislation in the field of public administration. I hope that this will be done in the future, and in order to prepare the state and society, civil servants, postgraduates, scientists, and academics, this project was introduced."

During the project, training will take place within the framework of the "Europeanization of Public Law" course for postgraduates of the Faculty of Law of Uzhhorod National University, and the issue of Europeanization of public law will be studied within the framework of advanced training courses for public servants of the Center for Advanced Training of Civil Servants of Uzhhorod National University.

There will also be a study of the implementation of the best European practices for ensuring constitutional control over government activities and preventing corruption in public administration. Scientists will study the implementation of the principles of the European Administrative Space in the administrative law of Ukraine and the practice of public administration. In addition, the challenges facing Ukraine in the framework of the Europeanization of public law in various areas and directions will be analyzed. Scientists will work on a conceptual model of the Europeanization of public law, taking into account the experience of the countries that became members of the EU during its creation, at certain stages of expansion, and Ukraine, which is on its way to join the commonwealth.

In addition, the project provides for the holding of round tables, conferences, the publication of scientific and educational literature, the dissemination of information to the general public through social networks, the university website, etc.
