In step with the times - Scientific Library of UzhNU caters modern students
Uzhhorod National University is a powerful educational institution that maintains good traditions, provides students with high quality modern education and opens up new horizons. Every day, the development of science and technology forces us to be open to modern ideas, to meet new and bright future. Thus, there is an ongoing renovation not only of the material and technical base of UzhNU, but also of methods of joint and coordinated work in the system "university-student-university".
One of last year’s most important achievements was the modernization of the library system, in particular, its computerization and connection to the UFD / Library program.
The director of the library, Maria Medved, says that this summer the reorganization of the library was completed. The information about all the textbooks of the library (over 600 thousand samples) was added to the unified register of the Scientific Library of UzhNU..
"In 2004, the university bought a special program for libraries, which was installed in the leading libraries of Ukraine. We began to use it actively only in 2013 though, and all the departments of the university library joined it step by step. All the information is in a general network now that simplifies and improves the work of the library.” - says the director of the Scientific Library of UzhNU Maria Medved.
Each university student can get acquainted with the new library program and evaluate its possibilities. However, the library directorate is not planning to stop, the next stage is updating the program and providing students and staff with the possibility to order books online
