The Academic Council discussed research and information activity of UzhNU
A regular meeting of the Academic Council of Uzhhorod National University took place on Thursday, January 26. The main issues on the agenda were the results of the research and information activity of the university, academic, moral building and scientific activities of the Faculty of International Relations, validation of the academic degree gained in a foreign higher educational institution and some others.
The meeting was opened by the Rector of UzhNU Volodymyr Smolanka who traditionally congratulated the members of the Academic Council, who had celebrated their birthdays over the past two weeks. The first one to present his report was Vice-Rector for Research Ihor Studenyak who reported on the results of research activity in 2016 and objectives for 2017.
The director of the Information and Publishing Centre of UzhNU Vasyl Ilnytskyy reported on the information activity of the university. He noted that in 2016 the activity of the information department was aimed at the formation of a unified university information space, prompt and comprehensive coverage of the multifaceted life of all structural units of UzhNU and distribution of objective information about the activities of the university team in the Transcarpathian and Ukrainian media.
The Dean of the Faculty of International Relations Mykola Palinchak reported on recent structural changes at the faculty, namely the introduction of new specializations, the work of the departments and the international activities of the faculty.
The Academic Council of the university also listened to the head of the Commission for validation of foreign diplomas and degrees, Vice-Rector for Academic Policy and Research of UzhNU Myroslava Lendel who reported on the validation of the academic degree of Doctor of Medical Sciences gained by Vasyl Kaliy in a foreign higher educational institution.
Then, the Academic Council considered a number of important issues, including the approval of candidates for personal scholarships on the basis of the results of the winter academic session; approval of specialization within the specialty accounting and taxation; approval of samples of diplomas. They also approved the curricula and renamed the department of biochemistry, pharmacology and physical metods of treatment to the department of biochemistry, pharmacology and physical methods of treatment with a course of analytical medicine and approved the regulations on the procedure of assignment and payment of scholarships to students, resident medical practitioners, postgraduate students and doctoral students of UzhNU.
