A modern laboratory was presented at the Educational and Research Institute of Chemistry and Ecology of UzhNU
The Educational and Research Institute of Chemistry and Ecology has opened a new research laboratory of the Department of Organic Chemistry. The laboratory was equipped with the help of the Enamin Charitable Foundation, one of the key activities of which is to support the development of Ukrainian chemical science and educational institutions. On Wednesday, 22 November, the opening of the laboratory was attended by First Vice-Rector Oleksandr Slyvka, Vice-Rector Ivan Myroniuk, representatives of Enamin - Oksana Vasylenko, Yevhen Ostapchuk, Nadiya Svaliavyn, as well as teachers and students of the institute.
The laboratory is actively used by teachers, students and postgraduates to carry out research. The laboratory was partially equipped with Soviet technology, and thanks to the Enamin Charitable Foundation, it was repaired and re-equipped.
"Currently, the Research Laboratory of the Department of Organic Chemistry has modern European exhaust systems, reagent storage cabinets and laboratory tables. When equipping the laboratory with the exhaust system, all safety rules for working with reagents used in European scientific institutions were taken into account. In addition, the foundation provided us with a certain list of instruments for research. We are grateful, because all this will help to take the scientific work of students and postgraduates to a new level. This is a powerful development of the department, which will help to attract even more students," adds Mykhailo Onysko, Head of the Department of Organic Chemistry.
Oksana Vasylenko, Deputy Director of Enamin, said: "Our company has created a charity fund of the same name, and we allocate part of our profits to sponsor various initiatives, including those related to the support and development of Ukrainian chemical science and education. We actively cooperate with universities in Kyiv, Kharkiv and Lviv. Over the past two years, we have expanded our geographical reach and opened other universities in western Ukraine, including Uzhhorod National University. In addition, Nadiya Svaliavyn, a graduate of UzhNU, works for the company. She became a certain impetus and engine for building deep cooperation. To date, the charitable foundation has funded repairs in the laboratory, purchased appropriate furniture, and donated materials. This is an important part of our cooperation, but we are also actively working together in the scientific field."
First Vice-Rector Oleksandr Slyvka notes: "A deeper acquaintance with Enamin began after the start of the full-scale war, with their request to conduct research at our university. This cooperation has resulted in the renovation of the Research Laboratory of the Department of Organic Chemistry at the expense of the fund established by the company.
We are pleased, as this initiative will undoubtedly contribute to both the educational process and research at an even higher level. In the future, we plan to maintain partnerships and develop the scope of our cooperation in the scientific field and work on the possibility of student internships at the research and production enterprise."
