Center for Collective Use of Scientific Equipment "Laboratory of Experimental and Applied Physics"

The main tasks of the Center are:

ensuring the results of scientific research and scientific and technical (experimental) developments that have national significance and international recognition;

increasing the level of publication of scientific research results in publications indexed by the Scopus and Web of Science Core Collection databases, and relevant scientometric indicators;

promoting the implementation of state targeted scientific and scientific and technical programs and scientific (scientific and technical) projects according to the determined priority thematic directions of scientific research and scientific and technical (experimental) developments;

ensuring the conduct of scientific materials science research by scientists of the university and other institutions of higher education using modern scientific equipment, at a high scientific and methodological level with the involvement of foreign scientific partners;

promotion of international scientific and technical cooperation;

wider involvement of students, bachelors, masters, graduate students and young scientists in research and development work.

According to the main tasks, the functions of the Center are:

performance of works related to materials science research;

providing access for materials science research to scientific and scientific-pedagogical workers working at the Uzhhorod National University;

providing access for materials science research to people studying at the Uzhhorod National University;

providing access to materials science research to scientists and researchers of other institutions of higher education;

provision of paid services for materials science research in the established manner.

The center undertakes to ensure high-quality and reliable operation of the equipment, its professional maintenance and to create conditions for the best use of working time.

The main areas of scientific research of the Center are:

comprehensive study of structural, electrical, mechanical, acoustic and optical parameters of crystalline and amorphous solids (semiconductors, ferroics, superionic conductors, etc.), liquid crystals and liquids.

research of composites, ceramics and thin films based on them;

study of the relationship between structural, electrical and optical properties;

research of order-disorder processes and relaxation processes in solids;

study of the influence of deviations from stoichiometry, as well as external factors such as temperature, different types of irradiation (laser, X-ray, electronic) on the electrical, mechanical, acoustic and optical parameters of materials of different aggregate states.

In accordance with the main directions of scientific research, the following results of the Center's work are expected:

elucidation of the peculiarities of the structural arrangement of atoms (molecules) of crystalline and amorphous solids;

establishing the relationship between the nature of the interaction of structural units of solid bodies and their mechanical, electrical, acoustic and optical properties;

establishing the mechanism of interaction of different types of irradiation with crystalline and amorphous solids;

elucidation of the physical mechanism of the influence of external factors of various nature (temperature, electric field, irradiation of a wide spectral range) on the mechanical, acoustic and optical properties of materials;

development of the fundamental bases for the creation of fully functional devices of electronics, optoelectronics and solid state ionics;

development of highly efficient energy sources;

development of supercapacitors (ionistors) of a new generation;

development of electrochemical and optical sensors, selective ion sensors, etc.

Organization of activities

The Center's activities are based on approved work plans, tasks of senior officials, applications in an approved form from the structural units of the University, and orders from third-party legal entities and individuals.

The terms of access to the scientific equipment of the Center and its use, both by representatives of the University and other institutions of higher education, are determined by the regulations approved by the rector.
