Winter online school "Ukraine on the way to the Euro-Atlantic community" has started at UzhNU
Winter online school started its work on February 16, 2022, as part of the training course "Ukraine on the way to Euro-Atlantic community". The school is held within the framework of the scientific project "Jean Monnet Transcarpathian Center for Studying European Development Strategies” at Uzhhorod National University. Well-known scholars, political scientists, historians, journalists and other experts are to give lectures to Uzhhorod National University students, masters and doctoral students, as well as invited students for three days.
The event was moderated by a project team member, Professor of Uzhhorod National University Ihor Todorov: "I am honored to open our winter online school. I am very pleased that the event has generated so much interest, a lot of people gathered to listen to our speakers, about 500 people expressed their desire to take part. This is not surprising, because the issues of security and joining NATO are relevant and are widely discussed nowadays. It is symbolic that the beginning of the school fell on such a holiday as Unity Day, which I congratulate everyone present on! ".
Myroslava Lendiel, the Vice-Rector of Uzhhorod National University, Doctor of Political Sciences, said: “I am glad to see all the participants of the online school in a great mood and fighting spirit. I do not know who chose this date for our event, but it is held on the Day of Unity and in general in the month, which in the recent history of Ukraine is sharply correlated with NATO issues. And if something contains several coincidences, with a clear conscience can be called a trend, or even a regularity. In my opinion, Ukraine has no future without NATO membership, just as Western civilization has no future without Ukraine. After all, we are now the center of Euro-Atlantic geopolitics and also the forefront of the Euro-Atlantic space, as the classics of geopolitical science wrote about us. I wish all our participants peace of mind, ability to work with information, and faith in their country in difficult times. "
Vitalii Andreyko, the Head of the Department of International Studies and Social Sciences, and Petro Tokar, Deputy Project Manager, also made their introductory remarks. The speakers were Vineta Kleine, the Head of NATO Information and Documentation Center, Stanislav Shevchuk, the Head of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine (2018-2019), Pavlo Hai-Nyzhnyk, Deputy Director of the Research Institute of Ukrainian Studies of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine; Serhii Dzherdzh and others.
