Visit of the Ambassador of the Republic of India to UzhNU
On Thursday, April 27, 2023, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to Ukraine Harsh Kumar Jain visited Uzhhorod National University. The Indian ambassador was welcomed by the rector of UzhNU Volodymyr Smolanka, vice-rectors Myroslava Lendel and Oleksandr Rogach.
During the meeting, the rector and vice-rectors told the guest about the history and the present day of the largest university in the Carpathian region, its structural divisions and specialties that students can acquire, the international activities of UzhNU and its cooperation with the universities of the neighboring countries. The Ambassador of India was interested in the way of organizing the educational process for his compatriots studying at UzhNU, in particular at the medical faculty No. 2, especially during the pandemic and the large-scale Russian-Ukrainian war.
After the conversation with the management of UzhNU, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to Ukraine Harsh Kumar Jain met with students, citizens of India, who gave him a warm welcome. The guests were shown a video presentation telling about the picturesque Transcarpathia, ancient Uzhhorod and the prestigious Uzhhorod National University. During the meeting, the students and the Ambassador had a conversation about further expansion of educational opportunities, and improvement of logistics between India and Ukraine.
On the same day, the Indian ambassador visited the medical faculty of UzhNU, inspected its classrooms and laboratories, asked the deans of the medical faculties, Oleksandr Boldyzhar and Vasyl Kaliy, and teachers, about the academic achievements of his compatriot students and the level of knowledge they acquired at the westernmost university of Ukraine.
