UzhNU is preparing to sign a cooperation agreement with the University of Oradea, Romania

Fruitful and multidirectional cooperation between the Faculty of International Economic Relations of UzhNU and the Faculty of International Relations of the University of Oradea (Romania) has a 20-year history. Its assets include joint international conferences, student internships, the Erasmus programme for students and teachers, and a certified course of lectures on cross-border cooperation.A logical extension of this cooperation is the preparation for the conclusion of a cooperation agreement between all departments of the two universities of the neighbouring countries. This is what the Rector of Uzhhorod National University, Doctor of Medicine, Professor Volodymyr Smolanka and the Dean of the Faculty of International Economic Relations, Doctor of Economics, Professor Mykola Palinchak agreed on with the Vice-Rector of the University of Oradea, Professor Sorin Šipoš, during their visit to Oradea.

The content of the partnership agreement between Uzhhorod National University and the University of Oradea is almost agreed upon. It remains to be seen where and when the document will be signed, which establishes new areas of cooperation between the universities, especially in such areas as internationalisation and research.

The agreement formalises the existing cooperation within the Centre for Euroregional Studies and will facilitate joint mobility of students and teachers, cross-border research projects, master's and doctoral programmes, as well as scientific and cultural events that take place in Oradea and Uzhhorod in turn.

During his business trip abroad, the Rector of UzhNU V. Smolanka also met with the Mayor of Uzhhorod's sister city Satu Mare, Gabor Kereshken. During the meeting, they discussed the possible implementation of joint infrastructure development projects and the study of Romania's experience in cooperation between state authorities, local governments and higher education institutions.
