UzhNU climbed 13 positions up in the consolidated ranking of Ukrainian universities
The first days of July brought very good news – in the consolidated ranking of universities of Ukraine Uzhhorod National University made a leap from the 30-31st place to the 17-18th among 269 universities. Last year our university already improved its performance, but it is the first time in the university history when it made such rapid and successful progress, especially given a high level of competition among the best universities. We asked the Rector of UzhNU Professor Volodymyt Smolanka to comment on positive dynamics of the university in the ranking.
- Of course, it became possible owing to all UzhNU employees and their daily work, as the consolidated ranking is based on three most prominent rankings (Scopus, Webometrics and "Top-200 Ukraine") which reflect all aspects of activity of higher educational institutions: educational work, academic achievements, open management, content and information activity, etc. – says Mr. Smolanka.
All units, every employee of our native university contributed to the achievement of this result and I want to thank everybody from the bottom of my heart. It is very difficult to achieve such success at a highly competitive educational market, because every university wants to improve its performance. It makes our success even more significant.
The dynamics of rapid ascent of UzhNU is particularly pleasant: in the last two years we "jumped" 24 steps up from the 41st place in 2014 to the 17th place in 2016, although in the previous 7 years we occupied places from 41 to 44 in the ranking. It’s fair to say that our university deserves the title of the most dynamic university of Ukraine.
