Ukrainian and Romanian friendship office has been opened at UzhNU
On October 15, as part of the program of celebratiing the 70th anniversary of Uzhhorod National University, Ukrainian and Romanian friendship office was opened at the Faculty of International Relations. The solemn event was attended by the university rector Volodymyr Smolanka, Consul General of Romania in Chernivtsi Eleonora Moldovan, the dean of the faculty Mykola Palinchak, special guests from Canada and sponsors.
Consul General of Romania in Chernivtsi said that Romania supported Ukraine on its way to Europe and stressed the importance of opening such office in UzhNU: "Today's grand opening is very significant - this step should be an incentive for establishing cooperation with other countries. We are pleased to participate in the organization of this event. We hope that the books we brought with us, will be useful for students and tutors of the faculty."
The rector of UzhNU Volodymyr Smolanka added that the opening of the office of Ukrainian-Romanian friendship would be another incentive for the neighboring countries to learn each other better.
After the solemn opening of the office Eleonora Moldovan delivered a lecture and told about the history of the country, opening of the embassy in Chernivtsi and strengthening friendly relations between Ukraine and Romania.
