The Center for Gender Education has joined the All-Ukrainian online marathon "Women's Leadership Time"
The all-Ukrainian eight-hour online marathon "Women's Leadership Time" is a discussion about the challenges women-leaders from all regions of Ukraine are facing, the prospects of consolidating the efforts of women-politicians, civil society and government in combating gender discrimination and sexism, finding the necessary tools to protect and realize women's political rights, the development and support of women's leadership potential.
The online marathon lasted eight hours and brought together about four hundred participants from all regions of Ukraine. 75 speakers took part in the marathon, including Olena Kondratyuk, Deputy Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine; MPs Inna Sovsun and Maryna Bardina; Olha Stefanishyna, Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine; Emine Dzhaparova, First Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine; Svitlana Panaiotidi, Deputy Minister for Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine, Olena Yena, the Director of the Women Leaders Programme of the National Democratic Institute, and others.
The Transcarpathian region was represented by women deputies, public opinion leaders, heads and members of some NGOs, scientists and others. The speakers of the Marathon from the Transcarpathian region were Marianna Kolodiy, the director of the Center for Gender Education at Uzhhorod National University, the head of the organizing committee of the “Transcarpathian Women's Necklace” award and Olha Travina, the deputy head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration.
The online marathon "Women's Leadership Time" was recognized as the longest national women's marathon and entered into the National Register of Records of Ukraine.
The event was organized by the Public Expert Council on Gender Issues "Equal Opportunities" at the MFI in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine together with the Institute for Regional Press Development. The informational support was provided on the platforms "Women are 50% of Ukraine's success" and "Respect. Campaigns against sexism in the media and politics".
