Students’ Day at UzhNU: awards to the best ones and Rector’s Cup
Uzhhorod National University hosted a number of events dedicated to the International Students’ Day. The university, Zakarpattia Regional Military Administration, Uzhhorod Rayon Administration and Uzhhorod City Council awarded the best students for their achievements in education, social life and sports with the certificates of honor. The ceremony was attended by the first vice-rector Oleksandr Slyvka and vice-rector for academic affairs and research Ihor Korol. The best students were also presented with a Starlink by Zakarpattia Regional Military Administration, which they decided to transfer to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
At the beginning of the meeting, Oleksandr Slyvka and Ihor Korol congratulated the students on their holiday, and noted that despite the war, UzhNU was constantly improving its status among Ukrainian institutions of higher education. Currently it has more than 17 thousand students. According to this indicator, the university is in top ten universities of Ukraine, as well as in 6th place in terms of the number of entrants in 2022. UzhNU also admits students from those cities of Ukraine where the universities were destroyed by the russian invaders.
The Rector's Cup in mini-football was also held at UzhNU, in Burevisnyk sports and recreation complex. 15 teams took part in it, and the winner was the team of the Faculty of Health and Physical Education.
