International cooperation agreement opening up new opportunities for UzhNU scientists has been signed

The other day the Rector of UzhNU  Professor Volodymyr Smolanka and acting Head of the Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery Professor Mykhailo Oros paid another visit to the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences and the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Lithuania.

As part of the visit, they had a meeting with the Rector of the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences Professor Zaliunas Remigius, Director of the Clinics of the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences Professor L. Jarusevicine and leading scientists of the university.

During the meeting it was agreed to intensify the exchange of graduate students and lecturers in academic year 2017-2018 (including the exchange in the framework of Erasmus+ programme), hold teaching and research practices, scientific trainings and organize joint seminars and conferences on the basis of the universities. The issues of providing departments with assistance in terms of improving the learning process for foreign students and cooperation between the departments in the field of clinical practice and the development of new medical technologies were discussed. These agreements are reflected in the signed Memorandum on cooperation between the universities, the main task of which is to promote international cooperation in the area of education, research and training based on exchange principles.

The scientists visited the Emergency Clinics, Trauma and Emergency Care Center, Neurology and Neurosurgery Clinics and the Department of Neurorehabilitation operating at the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences.

The visit of the Rector of UzhNU to the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Lithuania was important for the development of cooperation. The issues discussed were: joint projects in the area of emergency medical careand treatment of cardiovascular diseases (heart attacks and apoplexies) implemented in collaboration with Lithuanian and Ukrainian universities and hospitals and supported by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Lithuania. They also discussed exchange opportunities and cooperation in implementation of joint international projects.

It is worth mentioning that last year the delegation of the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences paid a visit to our university during which the contacts between the universities were established and the main vectors of cooperation were discussed.
