The Department of Military Training of UzhNU presented its achievements
On Friday, September 15, students of Uzhhorod National University got an opportunity to get acquainted with the work of a unique structure of our university - the Department of Military Training.
The head of the Military Training Department, Colonel Vasyl Oliynyk, admits that he is pleased with students' immense interest to their subdivision: "We are very glad that so many university faculties and students of the Natural Sciences and Humanities college of UzhNU responded to our invitation. We are convinced that this department is important and necessary not only for teachers but also for its students. This year, the first group of officers graduated from our department, and from the first of September we began to train new students who understand why they are studying at the department and realize the responsibility that lies on their shoulders. The department is always glad to meet visitors and guests, and if someone has a desire to see how we live and work, they are always welcome," - says the head of the department.
During their visit, the students were shown some videos about the life of the department and told about the technical equipment, in particular, night vision devices, binoculars and weapons. The students were also told about the training of reserve officers and emphasized that the training was conducted in four military majors: "Operational use of mechanized units, military divisions and subdivisions", "Operational use of terrestrial artillery units, military divisions and subdivisions", "Training special purpose specialists" and "Psychology".
Uzhhorod National University and, in particular, the Military Training Department play an important role in the education of true patriots who know the history of their state and are ready to defend its sovereignty. The head of the department emphasizes that the department does not train exclusively theorists, since it has excellent opportunities for training and improvement of students’ practical skills which are very important for future officers.
