Cooperation agreement in the field of social work has been signed between UzhNU and Darmstadt Univerity
On October, 12 2015 the Rector of UzhNU Volodymyr Smolanka signed a cooperation agreement with the Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences (Germany). German delegation consists of students mastering the major "Social work" and university lecturers from the sister city.
Cooperation agreement will facilitate the exchange of experience in the field of social work between the relevant departments of the two universities: Ukrainian and German. According to assistant professor of the department of sociology and social work Zita Bathory-Tartsi, the cooperation was actually established in 2012 when students and teachers from Uzhhorod visited Darmstadt University. Now the delegation from Germany is visiting the Department of Sociology and Social Work of UzhNU.
The delegation of 16 students, two professors - Angelika Grotterat and Amara Eckert and an employee of the department of social issues of the city of Darmstadt Anna Demchenko will spent a week in Uzhhorod. They are planning to have meetings with students of the Faculty of Social Sciences, get acquainted with social work in the region, visit Chaslivtsi boarding school, and work with children having mental disabilities, Roma children, communicate with professionals who work with victims of the war, etc.
