Congratulations on the Day of Dignity and Freedom!
Dear students, teachers, colleagues, friends!
Two years have passed since the beginning of the Revolution of Dignity whose driving force were the students of Ukrainian universities. Participants of the Euromaidan defended simple and clear values such as dignity, freedom, tolerance and European future of Ukraine as opposed to tinted Soviet past, they defended real and not imaginary independence of Ukraine.
This struggle continues. During the last two years Ukraine witnessed more tragic events than in the last two decades. The war takes our best compatriots including the representatives of university communities. Therefore, the high price we are paying for our independence and freedom compels us to take advantage of a unique opportunity to reform Ukraine and make it be worthy of its citizens who sacrificed their lives on Maidan and in the East of Ukraine.
Notwithstanding all internal and external challenges and difficulties we are facing in the process of making changes, I wish all of us to adhere to a clear civic position and be patriots of our country, to contribute with our everyday work to the development of Ukraine whose highest values are the rights and freedoms of citizens.
Glory to Ukraine!
