100% of the Academic Council resolutions have been put into action by Rector’s orders

The Rector of UzhNU Volodymyr Smolanka reported on the implementation of the resolutions adopted by the Academic Council of State Higher Educational Institution "Uzhhorod National University". The Academic Council is composed of 66 people. The most important resolutions of the collegial body have been published on the official university website in the relevant section. The Academic Council meets every month. In general, 22 routine issues have been considered this year.

Currently, the university continues to introduce the e-learning system. An electronic repository of publications has been created.

During the Academic Council Session the Regulations on the organization of training at UzhNU have been adopted, in particular, on the monitoring and rating assessment. The most important clauses of the document have been read by the Head of the education department Pavlo Bilak.

According to the Regulations, it will be allowed to resit state examinations, defend graduation thesis or projects within three years after graduation. But a candidate for Bachelor’s Degree has the right to resit exams or credit-tests not sooner than in 30 days after the failure; candidates for Specialist’s of Master’s Degree can do it not earlier than in 6 months.

The restrictions concerning transfer and readmission to the first year of study have been removed: the methodological board heard proposals of the deans and decided not to restrict the rights of first-year students. Readmission takes place during vacations and is done by dean’s offices.

In the previous Regulation there wasn’t a clause on the ranking of research and teaching staff. The Academic Council took a decision to reduce the working hours of research and teaching staff of the university to 550-600 hours per academic year.
