The main areas of scientific and practical activity of the Institute are:

  • formation and establishment of the effective functioning of the system of providing affordable high-quality primary care to the population on the basis of family medicine;
  • development of a scientific rationale and regulatory framework for the functioning and development of primary medical care;
  • substantiation of primary level staffing;
  • improvement of the work of the traditional "polyclinic" model and introduction of insurance medicine;
  • improvement of diagnosis and treatment of diseases based on evidence-based medicine;
  •  comprehensive study of infectious and inflammatory, immune and degenerative diseases in the family;
  •  research on the therapeutic properties of new pharmacological agents and participation in clinical trials.
