“Short Supply Chain Knowledge and Innovation Network – SKIN” implemented within the framework of Horizon 2020 Programme

Duration of the project: April 2018 – December 2020

Purpose: to create a European network (database) of best practices (functioning) of short chains of food production and supply, aimed at overcoming the fragmentation of knowledge in the agri-food industry and supporting innovative "bottom-up" initiatives.

Result: systematization of existing knowledge as well as stimulation of innovations on the basis of demand were carried out, long-term cooperation agreements between European farmers and cooperatives, assistance to stakeholders were provided, attraction and encouragement of innovations through research, rapprochement of producers with consumers, promotion of mutual trust on the basis of short supply chains of food products, their origin and method of production were established. The project has established a permanent stakeholder association aimed at improving the efficiency of short food supply chains for the economic growth of the industry for the benefit of farmers and consumers.
