UzhNU students took part in the VII International Scientific and Practical Conference of Student Self-Government Bodies
On December 20-22, 2024, the VII International Scientific and Practical Conference of Student Self-Government Bodies “Ukrainian Hogwarts: Legilimens - the Art of Penetrating the Student World”.
The purpose of the conference was to discuss current problems of student self-government bodies and find ways to solve them, stimulate student participation in student self-government bodies, and engage in an open discussion of promising areas of student self-government in Ukraine and abroad.
The Rector of the University, Professor Ruslan Biloskursky, welcomed the participants of the conference.
This year's conference was attended by leaders from many Ukrainian SGAs, including Uzhhorod National University, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Mariupol National University, Lutsk National University, Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, Ukrainian Catholic University, National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine, Lviv Polytechnic National University, Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas, National University of Lviv, National University of Lviv, and others.
The program of the conference included presentations of universities, presentation of abstracts, group work, interactive forms of acquaintance and informal communication of participants.

The delegation of Uzhhorod National University presented a thesis on “The Voice of Students: How Surveys Change the University Environment.” The report was focused on student self-government as a category that takes on a variety of meanings in modern conditions. After all, “Student self-government is the right and opportunity for students to decide on issues of education, life, protection of students' rights and interests, as well as the opportunity for higher education institutions to participate in management” (according to Article 40 of the Law of Ukraine).
The team of Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi University created a collection of abstracts of all participants of the VI International Scientific and Practical Conference of Student Self-Government Bodies.
For two days, active young people had the opportunity to work on solving a number of problems and creating joint projects aimed at improving the work of student government structures.

The exchange of information about student government structures and the transfer of information from different higher education institutions proved to be important for joint development. Students identified key aspects of the organizational model and internal activities. This conference contributed to the improvement of organizational models and leadership practices in CCAs. As a result, it emphasizes the importance of the OSS in forming an active student community and improving the quality of university life.
