UzhNU joined the events dedicated to the Days of Remembrance and Reconciliation
Traditionally, on May 8-9, Ukraine celebrates the Day of Remembrance and Reconciliation and the Day of the Victory over Nazism in the Second World War. Uzhhorod National University is annually involved in the events dedicated to these days by holding meetings and thematic lectures.
On Wednesday, May 9, 2018, students of UzhNU honoured the memory of the fighters for independence by laying flowers to the monument near the building of UzhNU administration. The chairman of the trade union organization of students, Rostyslav Holovchanskyi, is convinced that each of us must remember and honour those who gave their lives for the independence of Ukraine.
Uzhhorod National University also held a number of activities at its faculties, in particular meetings with the veterans of war, fighters for Ukraine's independence in the twentieth century, participants of the anti-terrorist operation and participants of the national security and defense measures aimed at containment of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation in Donetsk and Luhansk regions. The University demonstrates that the formation of the national memory and consciousness is an integral part of the upbringing of modern students, and measures to honour the memory of the fallen soldiers and victims of the war, the heroic deeds of our grandfathers and great-grandfathers must serve as a canvas for writing our new history.
