UKRAINIAN-SWISS TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE PROJECT

"DEVELOPMENT OF MEDICAL EDUCATION"

Project duration: July 01, 2023 - June 30, 2027.

The donor of the Project is the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SADC) of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of Switzerland, represented in Ukraine by the Swiss Cooperation Office (SCO). SADC is the managing body for the implementation of the Program.

 The Project Manager is the contracting organization Swiss Institute of Tropical and Public Health (SITPH).

The Project Beneficiary is the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.

The overall goal of the project:

Improving the quality of health care, especially at the primary health care level, through better medical and management education. As a result, primary healthcare providers will become more competent, motivated to develop professionally and provide patient-centered and safe healthcare services.

Expected results of the project:

Result 1: Strengthened capacity and capabilities of medical HEIs (training of family doctors, family nurses and managers) to provide student-centered education of the highest quality.The activities under the first result will be implemented in pilot and partner higher education institutions selected on a competitive basis.

Result 2: Staff of primary care facilities improve their qualifications and teamwork skills, so that users have more trust and satisfaction.

Result 3: Enabling environment for policy development and work on improving medical education and health system development is created. Educators, practitioners and policy makers form a learning community and adapt international best practices.
