UzhNU opens up new directions for cooperation in Europe

Today, on July 29, in the hall of the Academic Council of Uzhhorod National University the Rector Volodymyr Smolanka met with an official delegation of the Pardubice region (Czech Republic). The purpose of the meeting was to discuss cooperation in the area of research and the development of a joint project Smart Transcarpathia. UzhNU. UzhNU was also represented by the Vice-Rectors for Academic Policy and Research of UzhNU Ihor Korol and Myroslava Lendel, Vice-Rector for Research Ihor Studenyak and the Director of the Institute for European Integration Research Ivan Artiomov. The meeting was also attended by the executive director of "VIZa" foundation Volodymyr Chubirko.

Representatives of business and government of the Pardubice region familiarized the participants with the suggestions of engaging students of UzhNU to practice and study abroad. Czech colleagues noted that they found our university to be credible and they were eager to launch cooperation with UzhNU due to its scientific potential.

 During the meeting, Volodymyr Smolanka noted that Uzhhorod National University had all the opportunities for cooperation on mutually beneficial basis, and was ready to assist its students during the practical training abroad and carry out applied research and developments for Czech businesses on the basis of the Science Park of UzhNU. Vice Rector Myroslava Lendel said that recently the university held a contest of innovative ideas (start-ups) and its scientists were actively involved in the development of the regional development strategy of the Transcarpathian region, which could also be the evidence of the university potential.

 Another meeting with the Czech partners to discuss the implementation of joint projects is to be held in autumn. It is supposed to result in the signing of agreements on the practical training of students in the Pardubice region and the implementation of applied research by the Science park of UzhNU.
