UzhNU launched cooperation with CERIC-ERIC international research consortium

An important step towards joining the European research area has been made- Uzhhorod National University as a representative of Ukraine signed a basic agreement on cooperation with the research consortium CERIC-ERIC. The parties agreed to establish a physics laboratory with ultra-modern equipment at UzhNU.

CERIC-ERIC is an international research institution founded by the governments of the Czech Republic, Italy, Austria, Slovenia, Serbia and Romania. The goal is basic and applied research of materials, biomaterials and nanotechnologies.

Signing the agreement on cooperation took place in Trieste (Italy) at the headquarters of the international organization. "It is a great honour for us to represent Ukraine in the respectable scientific consortium. After all, we represent not only our university but also our country. The cooperation will have a major positive impact on our scientific achievements, as we join forces with one of the largest research centers of Europe "- says the Rector of UzhNU Prof. Volodymyr Smolanka.

Under the agreement, UzhNU and CERIC-ERIC will cooperate in the area of master's and doctoral student programmes (especially in the field of solid state physics), joint training of staff, data management and the creation and use of research laboratories.
