UzhNU youth commemorated the Heroes of Heavenly Hundred
February 20th 2014 changed the course of history of our country. This day was the bloodiest during the Revolution of Dignity: 48 dead activists, 4 representatives of security forces killed and 173 people from both sides wounded with firearms. 2 years have already passed but the investigations and the search of truth are still going on...
Today all conscious citizens across Ukraine commemorate the victims of the Revolution of Dignity. For example, in the central square of Uzhhorod students of Uzhhorod National University paid tribute to the Heroes of Heavenly Hundred.
University Vice-Rector Ihor Korol said: "The activity was planned by the Union of Students (some of them took part in the events of Maidan). The young people who continue fighting for the ideas of Maidan trying to implement them in their everyday lives gathered here. Nobody forced them to come, it was their own initiative to come and pay tribute to those who sacrificed their lives for the better future of Ukraine".
The Chair of the Union of Students Rostyslav Holovchanskyi stressed the importance of such activities, because the struggle continues, and the most difficult battle is perhaps in the future! He also offered a hold a minute of silence to commemorate the victims.
