UzhNU signed an academic partnership agreement with the University of Oradea

On Tuesday, 17 June, UzhNU Rector Volodymyr Smolankaand Rector of the University of Oradea in Romania Constantin Bungea signed a Memorandum of Understanding establishing a framework for joint research projects, exchange of teachers and students, and organisation of international conferences and seminars.

The event took place in the context of European policy to support Ukraine and deepen international academic ties. Uzhhorod National University was represented by Rector Volodymyr Smolanka and Dean of the Faculty of International Economic Relations Mykola Palinchak, while the University of Oradea was represented by Rector Constantin Bungea, Vice-Rector Sorin Shiposh, Dean of the Faculty of History Gabriel Moisa and Associate Professor Ioan Horga.

‘Our university has 19 faculties and an academic structure very similar to that of the University of Oradea. I am convinced that this partnership will provide us with significant opportunities for development in many areas,’ said Rector Smolanka.

"Our country is a free European country, so we have no restrictions on the international cooperation we enter into. The University of Oradea is one of the country's leading higher education institutions in terms of the budget allocated to internationalisation," said Rector Constantin Bungeaemphasising the institution's openness to global academic cooperation.

The agreement strengthens the position of the University of Oradea as an active participant in international academic networks and opens up new opportunities for the development of cross-border educational and scientific projects.
