UzhNU is among the ten most popular universities in Ukraine in terms of the number of applications submitted
The 2025 admission campaign is currently in full swing in Ukraine. According to open information systems, Uzhhorod National University currently ranks ninth among all universities in the country in terms of the number of applications submitted. As of 22:00 on Wednesday, 23 July, almost 5,800 applications had been submitted to the UzhNU admissions committee.
"It is particularly pleasing that 27% of the applications submitted are first priority, and almost half are first and second priority. Today, there is already reason to conclude that the specialties that can be obtained by studying at UzhNU are very popular among young people who want to get a quality education for the reconstruction of Ukraine," emphasized University Rector Volodymyr Smolanka. "Traditionally, the most popular specialties are those taught at the faculties of medicine, law, economics, history and international relations, health and physical education, information technology, engineering and technology, dentistry, social sciences, and others. I would like to note that, according to the signed agreement on double degrees, applicants for the Earth Sciences programme at the Faculty of Geography will, for the first time, have the opportunity to become students of the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University (Lublin, Poland) from their second year. We plan to expand the list of such specialities in the future."
Petro Horvat, Executive Secretary of the Admissions Committee, noted: "In 2025, priority will be indicated in applications for state-funded places (as in previous years) and for places funded by individuals or legal entities (a new feature of the 2025 admissions campaign). A priority rating of 1 (one) means the highest priority for the applicant. In total, an applicant may submit up to 15 applications, of which up to 5 may be for state-funded places. The priority rating indicated by the applicant cannot be changed after the application has been registered by the educational institution. Not all applicants have correctly understood this innovation, so when processing applications, selection committees provide additional explanations by telephone where possible. Our consultation centre is also open to applicants.
Applications will be accepted until 18:00 on 1 August.
