The delegation of UzhNU completed an internship at the University of Trnava within the framework of the Erasmus+ programme
From 18.01. to 2.02.2025The delegation from Uzhhorod University consisting of 8 people (Associate Professor of the Department of Sociology and Social Work Ruslana Dzhuhan and 4 students of the Faculty of Social Sciences, speciality ‘Social Work’ 1st year Yulia MOISEYUK, Yelyzaveta DYCHENKO, 2nd year Kateryna STARTSUN,3rd year Myroslava MALEIKO and Associate Professor of the Department of Propedeutics of Internal Medicine of the School of Medicine Valentyna KOVAL with 3rd year students majoring in Nursing Angelina BARANOVA, Tamila Sytar underwent an internship within the Erasmus+ programme at the University of Trnava in Trnava (Slovakia).Trnava (Slovak Republic) at the Faculty of Health and Social Work.
For the students of Social Work, the internship was held for 3 days at the TENENET NGO (Senec), which helps people in difficult life situations, and a public institution in Trnava that provides social services to the elderly. Real experts who shared their practical experience in social work, psychology, interventions, acquaintance with the created electronic system of their clients, cases of implemented projects, methods, techniques, technologies, etc.

The students of the Nursing speciality spent the first week practicing at the Trnava University Hospital, in particular in the neonatal, oncological and surgical departments. Associate Professor Valentyna KOVAL took part in the practical skills exam for Slovak students of Nursing, which took place in the Trauma Department of the Trnava University Hospital. During the second week, the students had the opportunity to learn practical skills in the following departments: surgery, anaesthesiology and intensive care.

On 22 January, we attended an open day at the Faculty of Health and Social Work of the University of Trnava, where we listened to information about the Department of Social Work and the organisation of the educational process together with future applicants. Students of the Nursing study programme had the opportunity to receive information about the conditions of study in Nursing and to get acquainted with the work of the simulation centre at the open day.
On January 28, the Department of Social Work organised a supervision for students majoring in Social Work, where everyone shared their impressions, thoughts and emotions from what they had seen and heard.
On 29 January, we visited the National Institute of Oncology in Bratislava. Dr Urickova showed us the work of the following departments: anaesthesiology and intensive care, gastroenterology, surgical oncology and chemotherapy. Between 250 and 300 patients receive medical care at the National Cancer Institute per day.

On the first and final day of our stay, a roundtable discussion was organised with the leadership of the Faculty of Health and Social Work, including the Deputy Dean, Professor Silvia Putekova, Head of the Department of Social Work, Mgr. Peter Patyi, PhD, other associate professors and professors of the Department of Social Work at the University of Trnava.
